NYS Lawmakers Agree to $175 Billion State Budget; Congestion Pricing and Plastic Bag Ban Included, but no Weed

Lawmakers agreed to the $175.5 billion state budget over the weekend, and it includes congestion pricing, criminal justice reform, and a plastic bag ban. Governor Andrew Cuomo did want a marijuana bill in there as well, but that’s been put on hold…

Congestion pricing won’t start right away, but it could start in 2021. The law first will establish a six-member Traffic Mobility Review Board to figure out the tolls and which bridges, such as the Tappan Zee Bridge, could be excluded.
