Head of ESD Corp. Talks up Sloatsburg Project; Harmony Hall to Host Winter Solstice Celebration Sunday

The Sloatsburg-Tuxedo Corridor revitalization project in western Ramapo is a great example of a burgeoning tourist destination. That’s according to Meghan Taylor, the Regional Director for the Empire State Development Corporation. At yesterday’s Rockland Business Association luncheon, Taylor said Tuxedo-Hudson Management invested 5.5 million dollars for phase one of the project, which renovated vacant and under-used properties, and phase two is coming soon…

Speaking of Sloatsburg, the “Friends of Harmony Hall – Jacob Sloat House” is hosting a free Winter Solstice music celebration on Sunday. Andrea is on the board of directors and says the event features Cindy Fountain delivering a Ramapough Lenape Nation Winter Blessing, archaeologist Edward Lenik will be talking about Timber Rattlesnakes, and Geoff Welch on keyboards playing the tunes…

Refreshments will be served and, again, the event is free. It’s at the Harmony Hall at 15 Liberty Rock Road in Sloatsburg on Sunday from 2-4. For more information visit FriendsOfHarmonyHall.org
