Congers Woman Gets No Jail Time After Pleading Guilty to Fatal Hit-and-Run

A Congers woman who pleaded guilty to running a man down in New City and leaving the scene last December will spend no time in jail. Published reports said 48 year-old Jodi Sarf was sentenced to a year of conditional release and must pay a $500 fine. Her license has also been suspended, she must attend defensive driving classes and perform community service. 40 year-old Miguel Aguaiza, an immigrant from Ecuador, was crossing Route 304 near the intersection of Third Street when he was struck. Sarf turned herself in about a month later.
