Rockland CE Hoping for Second Consecutive Unanimous Budget Passage

While the budget proposal does not call for any layoffs of county employees, it does eliminate 28 positions that haven’t been filled. As it stands the budget would increase taxes just under 3 percent, about $37 a year for the average Rockland resident. The Rockland County Legislature got an overview of the budget last week and has tentatively set November 19th for a public hearing and December 4th for a vote.
