No Serious Injuries After Truck-Train Strike in Clarkstown

There were no serious injuries after a CSX train collided with a car carrier truck yesterday morning in Clarkstown. The incident occurred around 8:30 in the morning at Pineview Rd in West Nyack. Early reports from the investigation say the CSX train was heading south and the truck backed up into the train when the collision occurred. In a statement, state senator David Carlucci said the State Department of Transportation has been conducting a safety study of rail crossings, but after this accident and last month’s fatal strike in Haverstraw, wants them to get it done more quickly.
