Solar-Powered Piermont Art Project to be Dedicated on Friday

In the shadow of the new Tappan Zee Bridge there’s a smaller bridge…one that has little commuter traffic, no car accidents, and no tolls either. On Friday, the Rockland “Art in Public Places” Committee will be dedicating a solar-powered light installation at the historic Sparkill Creek Drawbridge in Piermont. Committee member Judy Esterow says the project transforms the quaint bridge into a place to celebrate art, nature and design…

Subtle LED lighting will enhance the drawbridge’s intricate design. The dedication ceremony, featuring Richard Esnard of the Piermont Historical Society, will take place on Friday at 6:30 p.m., at the bridge site.
