Primaries to be Held Thursday in New York

The primaries are tomorrow, the polls are open from 6am to 9pm.  Here is a rundown of contested races in Rockland County:

There are two candidates seeking the Democratic Party’s nod for Governor, incumbent Andrew Cuomo and actress Cynthia Nixon.

For Lt. Governor incumbent Kathy Hochul faces off against NY city councilman Jumaane Williams.

Four attorney general candidates are vying for the Democratic line – Hudson Valley Congressman Sean Patrick Maloney, Fordham Law School professor Zephyr Teachout, New York City Public Advocate Letitia James and lawyer Leecia Eve.

Incumbent State Senator David Carlucci faces a challenge from Julie Goldberg.

For the Reform Party line, incumbent Assemblywoman Ellen Jaffee faces challenger, Chestnut Ridge mayor, Rosario Presti Jr.

  • In Spring Valley, Zach Clerina and Yisroel Eisenbach are seeking the Democratic ballot line for one seat on the Board of Trustees.
  • In Suffern, Republicans Gina Bertolino, James Russo, and former Mayor James Giannettino are on the primary ballot for two slots.
