NJ Governor Candidate, Legislator, Bill Schluter, Dies at 90

A long-time New Jersey legislator who ran unsuccessfully for governor in 2001, Bill Schluter, died Monday. His family said he had battled pancreatic cancer for the past two years. The Bronxville-born Schluter ran as an independent for governor, losing that year to Jim McGreevey. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Nancy, six children, 19 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. He was 90 years old.
