Rockland County Exec Wants Feds to Help Fix Commuter Situation

June brought express train cancellations for Rockland riders of NJ Transit trains into the city. That was so the positive train control safety feature could be installed after a decade of delays. The beginning of August saw train cancellations due to a shortage of engineers. Last week Bloomberg reported riders are unlikely to see relief before 2019. Some 50 engineers are still needed to bring staffing levels up to normal.
