Congers Woman Pleads Guilty to Fatal Hit-and-Run; Won’t Get Jail Time

A Congers woman will get one year of probation, a $500 fine and her driver’s license will be suspended for 6 months after pleading guilty to a fatal hit-and-run last December. The Journal News reports 49 year-old Jodi Sarf pleaded guilty earlier this month to leaving the scene of a fatal accident without reporting it. New City’s 47 year-old Manuel Aguaiza, a native of Ecuador, was struck as he was crossing Route 304 at Third Street. He died about a month after the accident.
