Hot Days on the Hudson: Boating Traffic Increases 4-fold

When it’s a summer holiday or it’s really hot on the weekends, boating traffic on the Hudson River tends to increase four times the average. That’s according to Sheriff Lou Falco, who told “The Morning Show” yesterday smaller boats and jet skis tend to create more havoc for the larger boats that are all out trying to enjoy the water, and thankfully they’ve been steering clear of the work being done on the Tappan Zee Bridge…

Still, Falco urges people to be careful and not to mix alcohol and boating. Two people had to be pulled out of the water near Yonkers on Saturday after their personal watercraft overturned, and last month a 31-year-old Bronx man reportedly drowned after flipping his jet ski.
