Legislative Sub-Committee Vote Ends with Accusations of Anti-Semitism; Ramapo Legislator Weighs-in

A legislator from the Town of Ramapo isn’t backing down from his accusations of anti-semitism in last week’s attempt to bring a memorializing resolution out of a legislative committee to show support for a state education oversight bill. Last week the measure was defeated in the Multi-services Committee that would have supported a state bill that would ensure “substantially equivalent” standards are being met in private schools. Legislator Laurie Santulli took to Facebook after the vote was defeated to denounce opponents as “religious zealots.” Legislator Aron Weider took offense to that, and said he and Legislator Phil Soskin hold a different point of view and want to protect religious freedom…
