Clarkstown, Historical Society, Celebrate Eagle Scouts

Three Clarkstown teens from Troop 97 in New City were recently saluted for the work they did around the county to earn the rank of Eagle Scout. Clarkstown Supervisor George Hoehmann says Ethan Vallebuona helped restore a nature trail at the town’s Germonds complex, Ryan Slattery restored the Bogert Cemetery near Zimi’s Bagels on Middletown Road in Pearl River, and Jarius Thomas built safety fences, friendship benches and a garden for the East Ramapo Early Childhood Education Center…

Ryan also got a Merit Award from the Historical Society of Rockland County at the 28th Historic Preservation Awards yesterday. Clare Sheridan of the Historical Society says Ryan did a great job with the cemetery, making sure Rockland’s history is not forgotten…

Other award-winners included Keizo and Haroko Tsukada for their preservation of 639 Oak Tree Road in Palisades, and the Cifuni Family for the preservation of the Demarest House in West Nyack.
