Westchester County Exec Says Public-Private Partnership for Rye Playland a Bad Deal; Park to Open this Weekend

The previous administration’s agreement with a private company to run Rye Playland was a bad deal. That’s according to the new administration, headed by Westchester County Executive George Latimer, who discussed a detailed report that analyzed a 2016 public-private partnership that now runs the amusement park. Latimer estimates the park needs $125 million worth of renovations. Regardless, it will open May 12th as scheduled, just in time for Mother’s Day.
