In an ironic twist, legislation that criminalized strangulation, sponsored by then- State Senator Schneiderman, could be used to prosecute him. The governor appointed Nassau County D-A Madeline Singas as special prosecutor yesterday to investigate the case. Acting Attorney General Barbara Underwood will investigate whether Schneiderman misused any state resources.
