Rockland Legislature asks Senate to Pass Employee Salary History Bill

The Rockland County Legislature is asking the state to make it illegal for would-be employers to get a new employee’s salary history. Legislators voted last month 14-0 asking the Senate to pass a bill already approved by the state Assembly. Cornell says the same situation can apply to older workers who look to change careers. She notes they could be disqualified by potential employers because they earned a higher salary than the employer is looking to pay.
