As of June 4th riders on the Pascack Valley Line and other NJ Transit trains may find themselves without the train they normally take. NJ Transit announced Thursday that two trains on the Pascack Valley line have been temporarily discontinued, including one New York City-bound express line, the 1618, and one Rockland-bound express line, the 1639. Additional service on the Pascack Valley line and other trains has been adjusted. The changes were made so NJ Transit could install Positive Train Control equipment, designed to automatically stop a train before accidents occur.
