NYS Assembly Passes Child Victims Act

The New York State Assembly voted for the second year in a row to pass the Child Victims Act, which would allow victims of sexual abuse a greater window of opportunity to bring their victims to court. The Senate would still need to pass the bill before it lands on the Governor’s desk who has indicated his support for it. The bill was not included in this year’s budget nor did the Senate pass it last year.
