Attempt to Exempt Yeshivas from Public School Education Concerns Rockland Assemblywoman

Private schools that get public funding are supposed to provide its students a substantially equivalent education as the public schools. That’s the law in New York State. A last-minute attempt by a Brooklyn Senator to exempt Yeshivas from that requirement failed to make it into the state budget, but Rockland Assemblywoman Ellen Jaffee is concerned it could come back again…
