A new survey from the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety found that the proportion of drivers who report talking on a cell phone regularly or fairly often jumped 46 percent in the last 5 years. Half say they talked on a cell phone while driving – they are four times more likely to be involved in a crash and more than a third admitted sending a text or email. The risk for those who text is eight times higher.
