Powerline Project Brings Stony Point Residents out for Public Meeting

A public information meeting concerning the Champlain Hudson Power Express power line was held last week in Stony Point. The power line will cut through parts of Rockland to deliver Canadian hydroelectric power to Queens in a few years. Stony Point supervisor Jim Monaghan says while residents learned most of the work would be done at night so as not to impact traffic, some were concerned that when work is near residential areas, work would impact homeowners’ sleeping habits…
