Public Information Hearing Tonight in Stony Point on Power Line Project

A public information meeting concerning the Champlain Hudson Power Express power line that was cancelled earlier this month due to severe weather is being held tonight in Stony Point. The power line will cut through parts of Rockland to deliver Canadian hydroelectric power to Queens in a few years. Stony Point supervisor Jim Monaghan attended a similar meeting earlier this month in Haverstraw, and he suggests Stony Point residents come out tonight to hear about the plan…

Area villages and towns affected by the pipeline will reportedly get about $19 million to share for various community projects. Tonight’s meeting is being held from 6:30-8:30 at James Farley Elementary school in Stony Point. For more information about the project, click here:
