Rockland County’s Director of Fire and Emergency Services to Retire at End of April

Rockland County’s director of fire and emergency services, Gordon Wren Jr., heard here on WRCR every Friday as the co-host of “Who Wants to be a Volunteer,” has announced he is retiring as of April 30th. But before he leaves he’ll be honored by the Historical Society of Rockland County on April 8th with the “Community Service Award” where he serves on the Board of Trustees and occasionally leads historical hikes…

Wren told The Journal News he was proud of how Rockland still had an all-volunteer fire service, and that he plans to remain active with the Rockland County Illegal Housing Task Force.
