Former Cuomo Aide Found Guilty of Taking Bribes

A former aide to New York Governor Andrew Cuomo was found guilty of agreeing to take over $300-thousand in bribes from companies that wanted to do business with the state. Joseph Percoco had reportedly accepted a bribe that gave his wife a no-show job earning 90 grand a year with the hope of securing favorable treatment for two power plant projects. Two other corporate executives paid cash bribes for a parking lot development project. In a statement Governor Cuomo said he was sad for Percoco’s young daughters and added there is no tolerance for any violation of the public trust. Percoco faces up to 50 years in prison.
