Champlain Hudson Power Express Info Meetings Start Tonight

A series of public informational meetings concerning the Champlain Hudson Power Express power line gets underway tonight. The power line will cut through parts of Rockland to deliver Canadian hydroelectric power to Queens in a few years. Haverstraw and area villages affected by the pipeline will reportedly get about $19 million to share for various community projects. The meetings are being held this week starting tonight at The Arc of Rockland in Congers from 6:30-8:30. The next meeting is Tuesday at The Haverstraw Center on Broad Street from 6:30-8:30, and the next one is Wednesday at James Farley Elementary school in Stony Point from 6:30-8:30.
