11th Annual Penguin Plunge Benefit in Nyack Sunday at Noon

If the regular weather hasn’t chilled you to the bone enough, you’ll want to head out to Nyack Sunday and participate in, or at least watch others participate in, the 11th annual Penguin Plunge into the Hudson River. This year’s beneficiaries are seven year-old Sebastian Scully of Valley Cottage and five-year-old Elle Fishman of Piermont. Sebastian suffers from a rare chronic allergic reaction inflammatory disease that currently has no cure. Despite that, the Valley Cottage Elementary student wants to be a fireman like his dad. Executive director and co-founder Barbara Noyes says Elle has Cerebellar Hypoplasia, an underdeveloped cerebellum, and this spunky five year-old is doing things she’s never done before…

The Penguin Plunge takes place at Nyack Memorial Park Sunday from noon to 2 PM, “The Plunge” itself will occur at 1:30 and there’ll be music and food. For more information about the event and how you can donate, visit www.PenguinPlungeNY.com or www.facebook.com/penguinplungeNY.
