Community Donates Over $100K for Garnerville Girl Waiting for Heart Transplant

More than $100,000 was raised for the 12 year-old Garnerville girl who is waiting for a heart transplant. Bella Muñoz had open heart surgery late last month and she and her family are waiting at New York-Presbyterian Medical Center in Manhattan for a matching heart donor. Hundreds came out to an event run by her dad’s colleagues from the Sheriff’s department where he works as a corrections officer. Stony Point supervisor Jim Monaghan said it was the largest turnout he’s seen for an area event, with an estimated 900 people attending at the Clubhouse at Patriot Hills on Sunday.
