The Rockland Probation Department says the former Ramapo building inspector convicted of felony charges cannot work for Spring Valley. According to the Journal News, Anthony Mallia was hired as village Mayor Alan Simon’s assistant, and that could be a probation violation. Simon told the Journal News Mallia is not involved in building department issues. Mallia was sentenced in November on two felony charges accusing him of undercharging contractors for permits. He was originally charged with 188 separate counts.
