NYS Opens Amnesty Program for TZB Fines

The state of New York will introduce an amnesty program following the roll-out of its new and somewhat confusing cashless toll system. Starting next week, the Thruway Authority said that “Tolls By Mail” customers with open violations from the Tappan Zee Bridge will be able to pay their outstanding toll balances on a dedicated webpage by February 26th. Once all tolls are paid in-full, the violation fees will be waived. The amnesty program is for those who received a “Tolls By Mail” violation letter issued between April 24, 2016 through Jan. 31, 2018 from the Tappan Zee Bridge. The Thruway Authority is taking steps to increase awareness of the new tolling system, including new signage and updating its mobile App and website, www.tollsbymailny.com.
