Train Strikes Car in Congers

No one was hurt after a train struck a car that had become stuck on the tracks at a railroad crossing in Congers Sunday night. The southbound train struck the car at Lake Road around 6:30. Clarkstown police say the sole occupant of the car got out before the train hit it. The crossing was closed for an hour as a tow truck removed the car and a safety inspection was done on the tracks. It was caught on video, and it’s posted on the Clarkstown Police Department’s Facebook page.
