President Trump Commutes Sentence of Monsey Man Convicted of Fraud and Money Laundering

Thousands upon thousands of people greeted Sholom Rubashkin in Boro Park yesterday, before arriving at his Monsey home late last night. Rubashkin’s prison sentence was commuted by President Trump at the urging of members of Congress and other high-ranking officials who argued Rubashkin’s sentence was too harsh. Rubashkin ran the country’s largest kosher meat-processing company based in Iowa. He was sentenced in 2009 to 27 years in prison for bank fraud and money laundering. The 57-year-old father of 10 served more than eight years of his sentence.
