Controversial Mahwah Ordinances Could be Overturned

Two controversial ordinances banning non-residents from using Mahwah parks and preventing Eruvs could soon be repealed. Mahwah’s council is set to introduce an ordinance tonight repealing those provisions. The new ordinance would allow “residents and non-residents” alike. Non-resident Orthodox Jews from Rockland saw the original ordinances as attempts to try and keep them from using town facilities. New Jersey’s Attorney General had filed a nine-count lawsuit against Mahwah stemming from the passage of the ordinances.
