CSL Sentencing Expected Today as Pre-sentence Hearing Ends Tuesday

Today’s the day. Lohud.com reports former Ramapo Supervisor Chris St. Lawrence is expected to be sentenced today, after the judge found prosecutors failed to quantify the investors’ losses from the fraud. The judge did say, however, the losses did occur and investors were victims of false information on the town’s fiscal health. St. Lawrence’s attorneys want probation, while prosecutors have asked for up to 14 years in prison. St. Lawrence was found guilty last May of fraud and conspiracy. Sentencing for former Ramapo assistant town attorney Aaron Troodler, who testified against St. Lawrence, has been rescheduled for January second.
