Security Beefed up Following Monday’s Terror Attack in Midtown

Following yesterday’s terror attack during the morning rush hour near Port Authority, the governor says state agencies are beefing up their security measures. Governor Andrew Cuomo said the NYPD, the State Police, National Guard, the Homeland Security, the MTA and Port Authority are increasing their presence at high-profile locations around the state. This includes airports, bridges, tunnels and mass transit systems. The governor says these are precautionary measures not based on any specific intelligence or ongoing threats. The police have a single suspect in custody. There were no fatalities due to yesterday’s incident.
