Putnam Assemblyman to Launch Bill to Rename New Bridge

An Assemblyman from Putnam County is looking to introduce legislation that would change the name of the new bridge that connects Nyack to Tarrytown the “Malcolm Wilson Tappan Zee Bridge.” Kevin Byrne voted against naming the new bridge after Governor Andrew Cuomo’s father, former Governor Mario Cuomo. A petition on Change.org has just over 100,000 supporters, with the goal of reaching 150,000. The governor has called the campaign “vindictive,” “hurtful,” “mean” and conducted by hyper-partisans.
