Uncertainty Over TZB Tolls Has Local Officials Calling Foul

While the new cashless toll system on the Tappan Zee Bridge and its method of sending out fines in the mail has come under fire by local residents and area officials, Rockland’s State Senator feels part of the problem is that The Toll Advisory Task Force has still yet to meet even once. The New NY Bridge Director of Communications said since tolls across the entire system will not increase until 2020, there has been no immediate need for the Task Force to meet and the group will convene at the appropriate time. The Thruway Authority is reportedly going to make just over 700 million dollars in tolls system-wide this year. Around 20 percent of that comes from the Tappan Zee Bridge.
