Petition to Change Name of New Tappan Zee Bridge Gaining Steam

The online petition asking for the official restoration of the Tappan Zee Bridge as the official name of the new Hudson River crossing has been picking up steam. It may even be in the top three of discussions you have with your family this Thanksgiving. Even the governor himself weighed in on it recently, calling it personally hurtful that people would want the name of his father, former governor Mario Cuomo, not be the identity of the new bridge. State Senator David Carlucci and Assemblywoman Ellen Jaffee both feel, regardless, people around here will always call it “The Tappan Zee Bridge”…

As of this morning the Change.org petition stood at 96,174, with the goal of reaching 150,000.
