NYS Police Investigate Shooting Death of Off-duty Rockland Corrections Deputy from Stony Point

New York State Police are investigating a fatal car crash yesterday in Woodbury that killed an off-duty Rockland County corrections division sheriff deputy and sent his wife to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Police say 42 year-old Frank Farina of Stony Point was driving his car along Route 6, also known as Long Mountain Parkway, around 1:30 when he suffered an apparent gunshot wound to the head. Police say Farina’s vehicle then crossed the double yellow line, left the roadway, and struck a rock embankment. 42 year-old Jennifer Farina was taken to Orange Regional Medical Center in the Town of Wallkill with non-life threatening injuries. The investigation into the incident and the circumstances involved is ongoing.
