There were no serious injuries reported after an NJ Transit train bound for Spring Valley struck a car on the tracks in Hackensack. The car’s occupants got out of the car before the accident occurred around 5:30 last night at Railroad Avenue and Beech Street. The Pascack Valley Line train had departed Hoboken around 5pm and was due to arrive in Spring Valley at about a quarter after six. Service was temporarily suspended in both directions resumed by 7:30 pm. No word on why the car was on the tracks in the first place.
