A car sank into the Neversink River in Port Jervis over the weekend, and the car’s driver reportedly has its GPS navigation system to thank for it. The unidentified 30-year-old Middletown woman said she was following her GPS and did not recognize the area behind the Port Jervis Fire Training Center as the vehicle slid down a muddy river bank and into the water Sunday night. Unable to open her car door or make her way out of a window, she called 911 and stayed on the phone as first responders arrived quickly to rescue her.
