Indian Point Closure to be Discussed at Public Meeting Friday Morning

As Indian Point’s reactors are scheduled to be shut down in 2020 and 2021, there’s some uncertainty as to what will happen with regard to public safety, potential cleanup of radioactive waste, helping plant workers transition into new jobs, and the future of the surrounding communities after the plants are gone. On Friday, the group “Hudson River Sloop Clearwater” is co-hosting a forum on the impacts of the plants’ closure, called, “When Indian Point Closes:  A Regional Forum on Workforce Transition.” Clearwater’s Environmental Action Director Manna Jo Greene says the forum will help people understand how to minimize the negative impact the plants’ closing will have…

The forum will be held tomorrow morning from 9 to 12:30 at the Desmond Fish Library in Garrison, New York. It is free and open the public, but because space is limited people will need to pre-register. You can do that by clicking here.
