Spring Valley Driver Strikes School Bus in Mahwah; no Life-threatening Injuries

Police say a 25-year-old Spring Valley woman struck a school bus yesterday afternoon, sending several kids and the bus driver to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The Bergen Academies school bus was reportedly turning from East Crescent Avenue onto Masonicus Road when it was hit by two cars, then careened out of control into a tree head-on. The 57-year-old bus driver from Hackensack was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital with facial injuries, while the Spring Valley woman who struck the bus first was taken to Hackensack Medical Center. No summonses were immediately issued, the investigation is continuing.
