New Planet Energy, the company behind a proposed “waste-to-fuel” facility on Holt Drive in Stony Point, may not get clearance from the State Department of Environmental Conservation until early next year. Orangetown’s supervisor has expressed concern about the potential for increased truck traffic on Route 9W in his area of the county. Monaghan hopes if the plant is approved, it would be a huge tax ratable for Stony Point.
