NJ Couple Lead Police on Chase Through Orange County

A couple suspected of a New Jersey burglary led police on a wild chase that ended in Orange County Monday evening. Published reports said 26-year-old Karisa Horsch of East Brunswick was pulled over in New Milford for running a “Stop” sign when she took off. She was stopped again a short time later and while she was being arrested, her passenger 25-year-old Michael Masonius of Warrensburg pulled away in the car, and led police on a chase up the Garden State Parkway. New Jersey police handed the chase off to New York State Police where it continued on west on Route 17, Route 21 and west on I-84. Masonius reportedly crossed crossed over into oncoming traffic several times, struck an ambulance, and finally was trapped by police on the center median. Masonius was being held in the Orange County Jail on bond, pending detention and extradition proceedings. He and Horsch were charged with burglary and theft. Horsch was also hit with several traffic summonses and was being held in the Bergen County Jail pending a detention hearing.
