Ramapo PD to Conduct Pedestrian Safety Program Today

Ramapo police are once again going to be out conducting their Pedestrian Safety program today. The program, which comes on the heels of the tragic so-called “road rage” incident last month that took the life of a three-month old baby, involves decoy officers acting as pedestrians in a random intersection. Drivers who fail to yield to the pedestrian will be stopped and ticketed. The program, which is an effort to reduce the number of injuries and fatalities on Ramapo’s often chaotic streets, also focuses on those who ignore Walk-Don’t-Walk signals.
