Sheriff: Drinking and Fireworks Can be Deadly, so be Careful (Audio)

Sparklers and small ground fireworks – not explosives – have been legal in Rockland and Orange Counties since 2015, following New York State’s passage of the law the year before. People in those counties over the age 18 have a small window leading up to the 4th of July and New Year’s Eve to purchase them, but Rockland’s Sheriff Lou Falco urges extreme caution when using them. Falco’s greatest concern is the problem of when people who’ve had too much to drink, especially when they are out boating at night, also try to use fireworks…
