Westchester May Put Brakes on Uber and Lyft

Though ride-sharing services like Uber and Lyft have the green light as June 29th to operate in New York State outside the city, Westchester County is considering slamming on the brakes before those services can start their engines. The county board of legislators wants to put additional regulations on the service, and could put it to a vote next week. But Uber has said they’ll pull out of Westchester entirely if any additional regulations are added. Nassau County and the city of Yonkers are also considering opting out.
