The County is holding a blood drive at the Fire Training Center in Pomona from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. tomorrow to mark both Flag Day and World Blood Donor Day. County Executive Ed Day called the donation of blood to save someone’s life a “patriotic act.” Eight of Rockland County’s top blood donors will be honored in a ceremony at the center. The New York Blood Center, which serves hospitals in Rockland and throughout the region, is running the drive. If you would like to donate, call 1-800-933-2566 or visit www.nybloodcenter.org/blood.
