Nanuet Man Charged in New City Car Crash Fatalities Had Previous Legal Issue

The Nanuet man accused in the fatal crash that killed a New City couple Sunday night has had previous run-ins with the law. Orangetown Police had arrested 23 year-old Matthew Sindone two years ago for allegedly breaking into numerous cars in Pearl River. 69 year-old Neil Block and 68 year-old Aline Block were killed after a two-car crash police say was caused when Sindone, an unlicensed driver, sped through a red light at the intersection of Route 304 and Goebel Road in New City. Sindone was charged with vehicular manslaughter, criminal possession of a controlled substance, operating a motor vehicle impaired by drugs and other charges. A funeral service was held yesterday at Temple Beth Sholom in New City for the Blocks.
