O&R’s “Smart Grid”

(Audio) With summer right around the corner and sky-high temperatures sure to have air conditioners all over the county blasting on high, O&R says the company is investing nearly $130 million this year to beef up its electric system. In Rockland, the centerpiece of O&R’s investment is a “smart grid” project is expected to cost about 4-point-6 million dollars. O&R’s Mike Donovan says the new project will improve electric service reliability thanks to state-of-the-art equipment and technology. Donovan says the new equipment will automate electric distribution circuits for more than 25-thousand customers in Bardonia, Chestnut Ridge, Kaser, Monsey, Nanuet, New City, Spring Valley, Tallman and West Nyack…
